Organizations: Much of the magic of books 'n' blankets tends to lie in the multitude of avenues, and to varying extents, through which virtually everyone might become involved in warming the lives of our area's pediatric population this holiday season, and beyond! Enjoy this sampling of ways in which you might choose to join our hands 'n' heart made endeavors:
-Organization Book Donation: Perhaps your organization wishes to donate just one book.
- Organization Book Drive: Alternatively, you might wish to organize a "book drive," in which efforts focus upon collecting as many books as possible toward the cause--perhaps, a competition!
-Individual/Organization Blanket Creation Donation: Do individuals amongst your organization enjoy making tie blankets? Feel free to join us in the "Blankets" component of the "Books 'n' Blankets" service outreach as well. Pre-made donations are always welcome!
-Monetary or Gift Card Donation: Donations in the form of money or gift card are also appreciated, in alleviating the costs associated with the provision of books and blankets.
How About PR/Drop-Boxes? The creation of promotional visuals, newsletters etc. may be something you desire to create on your own; or else, SNA will be happy to provide your organization with flyers to display. .
Must the Books be Brand New? All books and fabrics must be brand new to protect the fragile immune systems of the hospitalized children. For those wishing to curb costs, one might consider paperback opposed to hard-cover, the Kohl’s for Kids $5 books, The Dollar Tree or Target $1 book section, or else the fabulous deals guaranteed to be found in the Scholastic book orders. We are hoping to collect books for a wide range of grade levels PK-8th.
What is the Timeline?: We will be kicking-off the event campus-wide beginningMonday, September 23rd with flyers and drop-box bins ready for promotions and donations. Monday, November 4th, all donations/creations are due so we have plenty of time for fabric and book purchase, blanket creation, and book 'n' blanket bundling, and hospital delivery by Friday, December 6th. We so hope you will join us, in hand 'n' heart. Please message me below, indicating in which way you wish to become involved!
