We look forward to joining hands 'n' hearts with you this holiday season, and beyond!
Joining Hands 'n' Hearts with Individuals and Families:
Individuals, Families, and Friends: Much of the magic of books 'n' blankets tends to lie in the multitude of avenues, and to varying extents, through which virtually everyone might become involved in warming the lives of our area's pediatric population this holiday season, and beyond! Enjoy this sampling of ways in which you might choose to join our hands 'n' heart made endeavors:
-Book Donation: Donation of one or multiple new (for infection control purposes) book(s). For the money conscious, you might explore less expensive options--such as paperback versus hardcover, Scholastic books orders/book fairs, $5 Kohls for Kids selection, $1 Target or Dollar Tree options, etc. Kid's Connection: Actively engage your child in choosing the book or materials and discuss how/why they chose the particular selection or fleece, and the feelings they imagine the child is feeling, and those they believe their donation will elicit within the pediatric. Have them sign the front cover or attach a gift tag to the blanket, signing their names; how warm-n-fuzzy this will make them feel inside knowing that their recipient will possess a piece of your child's giving for years to come! What better way to instill the attitude of gratitude-- that the greatest of great rewards in life come not from those which we receive, but instead those which we impart upon others. And, what better time than during this holiday season! Want to share a glimpse with your child about the children to whom they are donating, or a little bit about nurses? Scroll toon the buttons below, to view some short, engaging video clips!
-Fleece Fabric/Blanket Donation: Donation of one or multiple sets of two coordinating (square-yard or larger) fleece fabric squares. We accept these materials as-is and are excited to tie them into treasures. Or, perhaps you enjoy making them yourself? We accept them newly premade as well! Many donors often inquire whether we might accept a newly made crocheted or knit blanket, as this happens to be there niche--absolutely!
-Monetary or Gift Card Donations: Toward the fore mentioned.
-Timeline:We will be kicking-off the event campus-wide beginningMonday, October 31st with flyers and drop-box bins ready for promotions and donations. Mid-late November, we plan on hosting an on-campus blanket making event. Monday, December 5th, all donations/creations are due so they may be delivered by week's end. We so hope you will join us, in hand 'n' heart. Please message me below, indicating in which way you wish to become involved!
