We look forward to joining hands 'n' hearts with your business this holiday season, and beyond!
Joining Hand 'n' Heart with Your Business:
Businesses: Much of the magic of books 'n' blankets tends to lie in the multitude of avenues, and to varying extents, through which virtually everyone might become involved in warming the lives of our area's pediatric population this holiday season, and beyond! Enjoy this sampling of ways in which you might choose to join our hands 'n' heart made endeavors:
-Department-Specific Book Donation: Perhaps each department wishes to donate just one book.
-Department/Company-Wide Book Drive:Alternatively, from November 2nd-December 4th, you might wish to organize a "book drive," in which department-specific/company-wide efforts focus upon collecting as many books as possible toward the cause--perhaps, a competition!
-Individual Staff/Department Blanket Creation Donation: Do individuals amongst your staff enjoy making tie blankets? Feel free to join us in the "Blankets" component of the "Books 'n' Blankets" service outreach as well. Pre-made donations are always welcome!
-Monetary or Gift Card Donation:Donations in the form of money or gift card are also appreciated, in alleviating the costs associated with the provision of books and blankets.
How About PR/Drop-Boxes? The creation of promotional visuals, newsletters etc. may be something you desire to create on your own; or else, SNA will be happy to provide your business with flyers to display. On Monday, November 2nd, we were honored to collaborate with WBAY for LIVE coverage to launch the event. Additionally, HSHS St. Vincent Hospital in particular is eager and excited to collaborate in this exciting endeavor, and will be featuring the happenings of "Books 'n' Blankets" within their internal newsletter, as well as contacting external media sources for coverage the week of our delivery.
Must the Books be Brand New? All books and fabrics must be brand new to protect the fragile immune systems of the hospitalized children. For those wishing to curb costs, one might consider paperback opposed to hard-cover, the Kohl’s for Kids $5 books, The Dollar Tree or Target $1 book section, or else the fabulous deals guaranteed to be found in the Scholastic book orders. We are hoping to collect books for a wide range of grade levels PK-8th.
What is the Timeline?: We will be kicking-off the event campus-wide beginningMonday, October 31st with flyers and drop-box bins ready for promotions and donations. Mid-late November, we plan on hosting an on-campus blanket making event. Monday, December 5th, all donations/creations are due so they may be delivered by week's end.
We so hope you will join us, in hand 'n' heart. Please message me below, indicating in which way you wish to become involved!
